Overnight trains are popular, especially the second-class air-conditioned sleeper, which is comfortable and affordable. First-class cabins offer more privacy, while third-class is the cheapest option.

The journey takes about 10–13 hours, with changing landscapes from plains to mountains. Enjoy fresh morning views before arriving. Food is available, but bringing snacks and water is recommended.

By Taxi

Taxi from Chiang Mai International Airport to Chiang Mai University is quick and convenient. Official airport taxis are available outside the arrivals hall. Simply follow the signs to the taxi queue and inform the driver of your destination. The journey takes about 10–15 minutes, depending on traffic.

The fare typically ranges from 100–150 THB. It’s recommended to confirm the price before departure. Taxis are comfortable, air-conditioned, and ideal for travelers with luggage.

By Air

Traveling by air to Chiang Mai International Airport is easy for both international and domestic travelers.

From overseas, you can take direct flights from regional hubs or connect via Bangkok. Airlines such as Thai Airways and AirAsia operate regular routes.
