Theme: Health Literacy and SDGs

The 12th AHLA International Health Literacy Conference encompasses eight sub-themes comprising 

1. Community and Population Health Literacy

This sub-theme includes Health literacy and primary health care, Community rational drug use literacy, Health literate community, Health literacy in urban community, Health literacy and health equity

2. Lifestyle, Nutrition, and Preventive Health Literacy           

This sub-theme includes NCD health literacy in primary care and primary health care, Food and nutrition literacy, Oral health literacy, Family health literacy , Health literacy in aging and/or palliative Care , Death literacy and spiritual health literacy

3. Mental Health Literacy       

This sub-theme includes Mental health literacy in crisis or disaster, Mental health communication, Mental health and SDGs, Community mental health literacy

4. Environmental and Climate Change Health Literacy

This sub-theme includes Air quality or PM 2.5 literacy, environmental health literacy, Disaster prevention literacy, Communicable disease, risk and vaccine literacy, Occupational health literacy.

5. Health Literacy in Healthcare Practice        

This sub-theme includes Health literacy in hospital service / setting, Health literacy practice by different professionals ie medical doctor, nursing, laboratory technologist, pharmarcist, physiotherapist. Health literacy and continuity of care ie, intermediate care, palliative care, home care.

6. Health Literate Organization, Health Literacy Policy, Systems, and Governance

This sub-theme includes Health literate province, Health literate school and universities, Health literate workplace. Health literacy in private organization/workplace. Universal health coverage literacy, Rational drug use literacy, Laboratory test literacy, Traditional or integrative medicine literacy.

7. Health Literacy Measurement, Monitoring, and Evaluation          

This sub-theme includes Health literacy evaluation concepts, tools and methods, Health literacy digital platform, Health literacy hub, Health literacy monitoring and evaluation system ie, health literacy national survey

8. Health Literacy in Professionals, Health Literacy Competency, Health Literacy Professional Education, Training and Certification.

This sub-theme includes Health literacy competency, Health literacy education, Health literacy and HRD, Health literate people: health volunteers, expert patients, and/or natural helpers.

✦ Abstract Submission

  • Deadline for abstract submission will be midnight on August 15, 2026 (Thailand time)
  • All abstracts must be submitted via abstract submission system only.  We do not accept the abstracts submitted by post, fax or e-mail. 
  • All abstracts must be in English.
  • Result will be announced August 31 - September 4, 2026.
  • The official language is English.
  • Please note that authors of accepted abstract are expected to attend the meeting in person.
